SERDANG, 30 Sep - Sports Academy, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) collaboration with IGNITX has organized an online course in the field of Event Management and Sports which is Sports Event Management - Foundation Level 1 on 23-30 September 2020. This course was conducted for 6 days starting September 23, 2020.

There are several topics discussed through this course which are Introduction & Planning, Sustainability & Essential Services, Sport, Venue & Technology, Client Operations, Risk and issue management, Athlete's experience and Dissolution & Legacy.

This online course was held through Zoom Meeting where the instructors consisted of various interesting backgrounds and highly experienced in the field of Event Management and Sports from various countries.

This Sports Event Management - Foundation Level 1 online course has received a very encouraging response from various parties. The total number of participants in this course is 60 participants from 19 countries which are Malaysia, Argentina, Brazil, Cameroon, Egypt, France, Ghana, Greece, India, Kenya, Luxembourg, Pakistan, Peru, Portugal, Singapore, Slovenia, Switzerland and Turkmeninstan.

Sports Event Management - Foundation Level 1 course is also one of the courses under the Three Pulse Program, Universiti Putra Malaysia Sports Academy which includes three main elements, namely Sports Management, Sports Psychology and Sports Nutrition.

Among the objectives of this course are to provide basic knowledge of the skills, duties, roles and functions of team managers, gain understanding of the latest practices in sports management, acquire knowledge and understanding of planning principles and skills as well as analyze the strengths and weaknesses of strategies and identify opportunities and threats in sports management.

Akademi Sukan, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) intends to further organize courses in the field of sports management to the next level.
