SERDANG, 08 Jul - Sports Academy, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has taken the initiative to organize online courses throughout the pandemic season for coaches, athletes, students and public for development of sports under the Three Pulse Program, Sports Academy, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

Sports Psychology: Foundation Level 1 course was held on 08 July 2020 and is a short-term course that is within 4 hours. This course starts at 9.00am to 1.00pm through the online platform, Zoom Meeting.

This course has received encouraging response where the total number of participation is 110 participants consist of coaches, athletes, students and parents of athletes.

Sports Academy, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) also provides a line-up of professional speakers and experts in Sports Psychology which are Dato 'Zaiton Othman, Former National Heptathlete, Puan Siti Fatimah Abdul Ghani, Head of Intervention Section, UPM Registrar's Office, Shalin Zulkifli, National Bowler and Daphne Ng, Former National Badminton Player.

The objectives of the Sports Psychology: Foundation Level 1 Course are to learn Sports Psychology and its importance to the success of athletes, know the methods to increase self-confidence and concentration and increase knowledge in shaping the character of an athlete who is more confident and enthusiastic.

Sports Academy, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) hopes that the "Sports Psychology: Foundation Level 1" course may give an impact on coaches, athletes, students and the public on the importance of Sports Psychology to individuals and athletes.

Sports Academy, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) also intends to organize more Sports Psychology Courses by level and discuss in more depth about sports psychology with a line of speakers who are experienced in sports psychology.
