The Deputy Director of Academics and Research acts under the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research and Innovation who carries out academic and research functions who will be assisted by Research Fellows, Research Officers and Youth and Sports Officers.

There is a Sports Excellence Laboratory and an Academic and Research Unit under the Deputy Director of Academics and Research, Sports Academy
